Hi, I’m Sara Krofl ! I joined H&MV Engineering in May 2024 as a Graduate Electrical Engineer.
My career began in Osijek, Croatia, but it wasn’t long before my adventurous spirit took me to Frankfurt, Germany. After just three months, I made the move, driven by my passion for international work. Frankfurt has proven to be an incredible place to grow professionally while indulging my love for travel and new experiences.
My Background and Career Journey
I earned my degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rijeka in Croatia. During my studies, I completed internships with companies like Končar Instrument Transformers and Benning, where I gained a solid foundation in power systems through hands-on projects and design work. These opportunities allowed me to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills in design drawings and field operations.
Now, at H&MV Engineering, I continue to build on this foundation, tackling exciting challenges in power systems design and contributing to innovative projects.
A Day in My Life as an Engineer
As an early riser, I’m often the first one in the office, ready to kickstart the day. My mornings are spent diving into design drawings and specifications, collaborating with teammates, and reviewing feedback from lead engineers. I enjoy solving problems, refining designs, and expanding my skill set to take on new challenges. Every day offers an opportunity to learn and grow, which keeps me motivated and excited about my work.
Why Engineering Inspires Me
Engineering has always been a passion of mine because it’s a field that constantly challenges me to think critically and solve real-world problems. I’m inspired by the potential to innovate and make a tangible impact through our work. What excites me most is the diversity of ideas and people I get to work with, which broadens my perspective and fuels my drive to excel.
Life Outside of Work
Outside the office, I’m an avid traveler, always eager to explore new destinations. My hobbies include outdoor activities like horseback riding, cycling, and scuba diving, which help me recharge and develop skills like patience and adaptability. Whether I’m in the water, on a bike, or exploring a new city, I’m always up for an adventure.
I’m particularly excited about my upcoming trips to the Maldives and Spain—two more opportunities to combine my love for travel and discovery.
A Final Thought
“Life is like exploring the ocean – the further you go, the more treasures you find.” This quote perfectly sums up my approach to life and my career as an engineer. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities, and I’m excited to keep diving deeper into the possibilities ahead.
