Client Challenges
ESB in partnership with Bord na Mòna, required a competent contractor for phase two of the 31-turbine wind farm, with a maximum export capacity of 83 MW. This being an existing site and second phase of a project promoted challenges.
H&MV's Solution
- H&MV Engineering’s scope, as the main electrical contractor, involved:
- Supply and install the new equipment necessary, including 110/33 kV 100 MVA Transformer, 110 kV AIS equipment including steelwork, 33 kV 800sq aluminium insulated cable as well as the 33 kV collector circuit cabling to 31 turbines with semi-conductive layer.
- Civils for new trafo plinth, extending of existing cable chamber and alterations of IPP control room to allow for additional switchgear.
- Test and commissioning, training, O&M manuals.
- Production of a complete set of electrical as-built drawings and a safety handover file.
- H&MV Engineering were also responsible for risk management and issuing the Integrated Test Plans (ITPs), construction management plans, quality plans and the safety management plan.
