Client Challenges
The works consisted of 11 kV substation installation and HV contestable cable route. H&MV were appointed by the client to carry out the construction and commissioning of all electrical works to meet the Client’s, UKPN’s and ESP’s (IDNO) specifications.
H&MV's Solution
- H&MV Engineering was responsible for the design of the Distribution Network Operator substation, contestable high-voltage cable route, earthing, civils, and electrical works, as well as carrying out the associated studies. The company was also responsible for issuing the Integrated Test Plans (ITPs), CDM appointments, temporary works register, construction management plans, quality plans, and safety management plans.
- H&MV Engineering managed the safety and risk management throughout the project lifecycle and produced a complete set of electrical as-built drawings and handover files.
- Local utility liaison and stakeholder management, as well as safety coordination for the substation compound between contractors, was also within H&MV’s remit.
- Finally, H&MV took care of the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of the electrical balance of the plant.
