Contego BESS
- Case Study: Renewables Energy
Location: UK
Client Challenges
The client required an ICP contractor to design, install and commission a battery energy storage system (BESS) in Sussex. This project had tight timeframes for delivery which required site co-ordination and interfacing as well as effective and efficient stakeholder management.
H&MV's Solution
- H&MV Engineering was responsible for the design, supply, and installation of the 35 MW Contego BESS. Our scope included:
- The design and installation of 33 kV circuit cable from POC to the customer’s substation at approx. 1500 m.
- All on-site civil works for the battery storage compound as well as traffic management, signing and guarding, including provision for temporary electrical supply on site.
- Liaison and compliance with all local authority planning requirements.
- Obtaining design approval for the ICP works by the DNO together with managing the final non-contestable connections to meet the programme dates.
- Compliance with the requirements of the CDM Regulations and all relevant Health, Safety and Welfare legislation.
