Client Challenges
Mitsubishi’s were contracting for their 1st outdoor 132 kV substation in Europe. This was a brownfield site which presented challenges as well as tight timeframes that required acceleration due to the National Grid outage window.
H&MV's Solution
- H&MV project managed the installation of the outdoor 15 bay 132 kV GIS substation for Mitsubishi in the UKPN DNO region.
- The installation works including offloading and installation of all GIS equipment, above ground earthing, standard inspection/testing, installation, termination and testing of multicore cabling. Responsible for issuing the Integrated Test Plans (ITPs), CDM appointments, Temporary works regsiter, Construction Management Plans, Quality Plans, and Safety Management Plan. H&MV Engineering were responsible for safety & risk management throughout the project lifecycle and produced a complete set of electrical as-built drawings and handover file.
- The H&MV team accelerated the programme upon request, with 12-hour days and weekend working to achieve the client’s deadline.
