Tarmac 11/33 kV Substation Upgrade
- Case Study: Commercial & Industrial
Location: UK
Client Challenges
The client required upgrade works for Tarmac substation with minimal outages to enable continuity of supply and an efficient delivery program. Replacement of Paper Insulated Lead Covered (PILC) cables is also required.
H&MV's Solution
- H&MV project managed the engineering, design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the refurbishment of the 33/11 kV substations at Tarmac.
- The project involved the installation and commissioning of 14 ABB Unigear 500 R Cubicles, two protection panels and 11 kV circuits. H&MV was responsible for issuing the integrated test plans (ITPs), CDM appointments, temporary work registers, construction management plans, quality plans, and safety management plans. H&MV Engineering also took care of the safety and risk management throughout the project lifecycle and produced a complete set of electrical as-built drawings and handover files.
- The project was delivered successfully, and H&MV Engineering has been awarded subsequent upgrades with Tarmac in the UK.
