Client Challenges
The client required a competent contractor with ICP, electrical and civil experience to deliver detailed design, civil construction, electrical installation and commissioning works for the 50 MW BESS located in Northern Ireland. The project had a very challenging programme.
H&MV's Solution
- H&MV Engineering’s scope included detailed design, procurement, supply, installation and commissioning of both the TSO and client compound, an AIS 110/33 kV substation required to connect the BESS to the nearby transmission network substation.
- We coordinated with the client and principal contractor (battery OEM) regarding the delivering of the BESS to site which included: PCS, containerised batteries, HVAC and fire suppression system and liaison with landowners, planning office and local community. H&MV Engineering were responsible for safety and risk management throughout the project lifecycle and produced a complete set of electrical as-built drawings and handover file.
- H&MV maintained compliance with the requirements of the CDM regulations and all relevant health, safety and welfare legislation.
