380/20 kV Data Centre

Location: Germany

Client Challenges

Connection of a 350 MW data centre at 380 kV to the grid in Berlin. The client required a competent contractor for design, construction, commissioning, and handover, as well as liaison with the local municipal and 50 hertz.

H&MV's Solution

  • H&MV Engineering’s scope of works includes the complete engineering & design phase, procurement of equipment, including LLEs completed through a PCSA, and on-site construction, commissioning and handover to the client.
  • The new 380/30 kV substation includes 380kV GIS equipment and associated primary and secondary equipment.
  • H&MV is also responsible for the civil construction of the GIS building, including the control, metering, and auxiliaries rooms, transformer bunds, and 30 kV modular buildings.
  • Liaison and communication, as well as early engagement with the client through the PCSA and utility, was of paramount importance to the delivery of this project.
