Client Challenges
The client required a competent contractor to design and build a 60 MW (63.16 MVA) battery storage system (BESS) to provide DS3 services to the grid network. Strict deadlines for energisation were required for the project.
H&MV's Solution
- H&MV carried out the full duties as PSCS on behalf of our client and was responsible for the project, site, and procurement management, erection, installation and commissioning, as well as QEHS.
- The HV substation associated with the BESS comprised 110/33 kV switchgear and transformer and an interface kiosk specified by TSO (EirGrid). This included all station earthing, HV transformer cabling and installation and commissioning a UPS and Scada system.
- H&MV were responsible for installing free-issue battery equipment, including inverters, transformers, battery storage containers, supply and installation of associated earthing, cabling and containment, and complete commissioning and preparation of the safety handover file.
