Client Challenges

Mitsubishi’s were contracting for their 1st outdoor 132 kV substation in Europe. This was a brownfield site which presented challenges as well as tight timeframes that required acceleration due to the National Grid outage window.

H&MV's Solution

H&MV project managed the installation of the outdoor 15 bay 132 kV GIS substation for Mitsubishi in the UKPN DNO region.
The installation works including offloading and installation of all GIS equipment, above ground earthing, standard inspection/testing, installation, termination and testing of multicore cabling. Responsible for issuing the Integrated Test Plans (ITPs), CDM appointments, Temporary works regsiter, Construction Management Plans, Quality Plans, and Safety Management Plan. H&MV Engineering were responsible for safety & risk management throughout the project lifecycle and produced a complete set of electrical as-built drawings and handover file.
The H&MV team accelerated the programme upon request, with 12-hour days and weekend working to achieve the client’s deadline.
