Client Challenges

Eli Lily required the construction of a pharmaceutical production facility, with controlled environments, for their biotech manufacturing plant in Raheen, Co. Limerick. They required a new 38 kV substation compound for connection to a 38 kV ESB supply.

H&MV's Solution

H&MV were responsible for the design & build of a new 38 kV substation compound for connection to a 38 kV ESB supply. This included the design, supply, installation, integration, testing & commissioning of the complete 38kV substation system.
This also included the construction of a 38 kV substation compound, including the ESB 38 kV switch room, the client 20 kV switch room, earthing grid, access roadway, compound fence and electrical and mechanical services.
Installation of two 38 kV/20 kV outdoor power transformers and the supply and installation of 20 kV HV cable around the Eli Lily Limerick campus & between the ESB GIS switchgear to the 38 kV/20 kV transformers was also required.
